The Penn LGBT Center presents the 2018 Mark D. Gordon Lecture with Michael Arceneaux, author of I Can't Date Jesus: Love, Sex, Family, Race, and Other Reasons I've Put My Faith in Beyonce. The conversation is open to all.
Through his candor and wit, Arceneaux unapologetically addresses race, sexuality, religion, and pop culture through the lens of Marginalization in today's America. His comments on life as a black gay man, and how his Catholic upbringing and Howard University education have helped him give voice to an often silenced community. His writing is serious about the issues, but with a tone that is full of joy, humor, and a love of Beyonce!
The Annenberg School is a co-sponsor of the event.
